After you create the Windows VPN adapter, there are some additional settings that need to be completed for it to work.
Security Tab
- Change settings to look like this image.
- The "preshared key" is located in their UniFi VPN Server settings.
Networking Tab
- You really only need IPv4 checked.
- Uncheck "Use default gateway on remote network" in the IPv4 Advanced settings.
- checked, then all internet traffic is routed over the VPN.
- unchecked, then all internet traffic goes out the user's normal internet connection. Unchecked is normal and better performance but windows seems to default it to checked.
